The Noida Police in Uttar Pradesh busted a gang from Sector-63 that was running a network of bogus degrees across the country. This gang was selling bogus degrees and diploma degrees for 20 to 80 thousand rupees. They used to deceive people by giving bogus advertisement on Google. Police have arrested Anand Shekhar, a resident of Patna and Chirag Sharma, a resident of Noida in this case. Bogus degrees and diplomas of the year 2000, 2002 have also been found from both of them. The police received information that the business of selling fake marksheets, diplomas and degrees was going on in the building located at B-44 of Sector-63. After that the police raided the place in which two accused Anand and Chirag have been arrested.
Were Police recovered 85 bogus mark sheets from him, 7 blank Russian Mark sheets, 8 fake stamps, 33 mobile phones, 14 computers and PUP SIM cards found. The police said that before Noida, the business of selling diplomas and degrees was also done in Bengaluru. Bengaluru police arrested Anand in January 2022. After getting bail from there, he came to Noida in March 2022 and Again started an illegal business. He has revealed that he has been selling bogus marksheets, degrees and diplomas in this manner for 10 years.
The accused used to advertise through social media platform Google. For that, a payment of 5 thousand rupees per day was also made. In these advertisements, he used to lure people into his trap by offering degrees and diplomas and once they got a call or clicked on an advertisement, he himself would contact those people and make them victims of fraud. Apart from that, he used to collect details of students from coaching institutes, colleges, etc. For this reason, he himself claimed to be the manager of Vidya Bharati Institute and Imperial Institute. However, in reality there is no institute of this name.
