Flood victims not getting help in Pakistan fear of corruption in international aid!

Islamabad,

Amid the flood crisis in Pakistan, UN humanitarian coordinator Julian Harnis said on Wednesday that only US$38.35 million of the US $150 million received by the South Asian country has been converted into aid. As ANI reports, the demand for humanitarian aid is high in this flood-hit country, but proper funds are not reaching the ground due to corruption.

Meanwhile, Julian Harnis said that the health situation in many provinces of Pakistan is alarming despite huge funding. He added that $160 million flash appeal in Pakistan is not enough. They are in discussions with the government and other stakeholders, who will then revise the flash appeal. Harnis said the flash appeal, launched jointly by the Pakistan government and the United Nations, is currently for six months and is sufficient for only 6 million people.
